1) What is the idea behind Surplus PK?

Surplus is Pakistan’s ONLY B2B Surplus Management Platform. Surplus.com.pk is an online platform where professionals can sell or purchase industrial surplus. The idea behind it, is based on “Circular Economy” concept which is also linked with UN SDG12 of “Responsible Consumption”.
In Surplus PK’s research, it came out that there are organizations having tons of excess or surplus items lying on their storage shelves for years as dead stock; while, others need the same items to run their daily operations. Surplus PK does the match making for them. Sellers can sell their dead stock at unbelievable prices; however, buyers get a great deal as they are buying from others’ surplus. Congratulations to both, as they are helping the sustainability and more specifically environmental cause via their responsible consumption, reuse, and redistribute

2) How to buy or sell an item on Surplus PK?

a. Register: Organization’s authorized representative can register on Surplus.com.pk as a “Buyer” or “Seller” or “Both: Buyer & Seller”. Now, individuals can also register on Surplus PK; however, they can only register as “Buyer”.

b. Buy: Once registered and once the client has selected an item on surplus.com.pk, then the client can click on “Interested” button. Surplus PK’s system and representatives will then complete the whole transaction to the satisfaction of all the parties involved.

c. Sell: Once registered, organization’s representative can upload their surplus items or dead stock on Surplus PK. After approval (within 24 hours) from Surplus PK Commodity Team, these will be showcased on Surplus.com.pk. Once a client clicks on “Interested”, the Surplus PK’s system and representative will then complete the whole transaction to the satisfaction of all the parties involved.

3) Is there any Guarantee on an item bought from Surplus?

In case the items uploaded on Surplus PK platform by the Seller, already have any guarantees and/or warranties, then these will be passed on to the Buyer. Else, there will be no guarantee. Frequently, Surplus PK provides checking warranty for a defined number of days; however, this depends on the item under consideration.

4) What are the modes of payment?

Mode of payment is frequently by PO and occasionally by Chaque.

5) How much time would it take for me to acquire the item I selected?

Frequently, the Leadtime is between 7-10 working days.

6) Are the prices fixed, or is there a bargaining option available?

Fixed Price, as Surplus PK’s Commodity Specialists try to quote the most favorable prices to our esteemed Buyers.

7) How to list an item on Surplus?

a. Register: Organization’s authorized representative can register on Surplus.com.pk as a “Seller” or “Both: Buyer & Seller”.

b. List and Sell:

     i. Once registered, organization’s representative can upload their surplus items or dead stock on Surplus PK.

     ii. After approval (within 24 hours) from Surplus PK Commodity Team, these will be showcased on Surplus.com.pk.

     iii. There is an option of Bulk Upload, where the Seller will first insert the data of their batch of items on the Excel Template provided on the Upload Page. They have to ensure that the formatting is correct. Once done, they will share this Excel Sheet with Surplus PK’s representative who will upload it after approval. Surplus PK’s team is available in case of any ambiguity in this process and will support the esteemed clients in prompt uploading of bulk items.

8) What is the return policy of items bought from Surplus?

There are two scenarios:

a. Items with Checking Warranty: Clients can check the item and return in case there is any dysfunctionality within the duration of the checking warranty period.

b. Items with no Checking Warranty: In this case, there will be no return applicable.

9) What is the minimum order quantity (MoQ) for purchase?

This is different for different items, and it is mentioned on each item’s description webpage. However, most items showcased on Surplus PK have no MoQ.

10) Can I change or cancel my order?

After “confirmed PO” from the Buyer, there will be no change or cancel option applicable.

11) Can the buyer inspect the item physically before making a purchase?

In some situations, Buyers can inspect the item physically. Surplus PK takes each transaction as a Project. Therefore, frequently, Surplus PK’s team provides all details about the item being purchased and the team is with the Buyer till the transaction is completed satisfactorily.
